The story behind the example

Why this real journey is useful to share.

This was the personal treatment experience that led to Your Smile Journey being created. We share it as a real-world example of the process—not as a prediction of what another person will need or pay.

After receiving expensive Australian dental quotes, our founder researched treatment options in several countries before choosing Vietnam. The decision was based on communication, the proposed treatment plan, clinic information and the overall cost—not price alone.

The experience now helps our team explain the practical side of dental travel: clinic communication, treatment timing, healing, translator support, accommodation and the questions worth asking before committing.

The treatment

17 crowns, four implants, two bone grafts and four root canals.

This was the treatment plan for this individual case. Another person may need substantially more, less or completely different treatment.

01

First treatment stage

The planned work included 17 crowns, four implants, two bone grafts and four root canals. The teeth were prepared and the implant and graft procedures were completed according to the clinic treatment plan.

02

During the treatment trip

The restorations and bridge work were tried in, checked and adjusted as treatment progressed. Fit, bite and appearance were reviewed before the first stage was completed.

03

Healing and final implant stage

Because implants were involved, a healing period was required before the final implant restorations could be completed. A later clinic visit was part of this individual treatment plan.

The cost comparison

Australian estimate vs Vietnam clinic treatment cost.

The Australian quote for the major dental work was approximately $35,000–$40,000. The Vietnam clinic treatment cost was approximately $16,000.

This is one personal experience only. It is not a guarantee of another person's savings because treatment requirements, materials, exchange rates and clinic pricing vary.

The later treatment stage

Implant treatment was staged.

Because the treatment included implants, our founder returned later for the next stage after a healing period. The temporary bridge work was removed and the final crown/restorative stage was completed according to the clinic plan.

That experience gives our team practical insight into the fact that major dental treatment can involve more than one trip.
